'WORKING AWAY'
Hi Guys! I’m WORKING AWAY…
Coming to you from a very rainy GLASGOW
Omg I’ve just come on to write a blog about how I’ve never really ‘worked away’ until this year, and I have to say.. I’m loving it!
Being self employed I’ve always been very envious of those of you that get to have a ‘work trip’ or few nights in a hotel ‘with work’.
So this year, I booked lots of training courses, as far away from home as possible - haha, to make sure that I got a night or 2 in a hotel, so I am writing this blog post from wee Glasgow with a glass of fizz in my hand and a dinner reservation for 7pm. I feel like i’m on holiday haha (i’m not by the way, I’m going to do some work don’t worry!)
The drive was pretty rough - 5 hours of concentration is something I don’t think i’ve ever done before. I binged my podcasts and rang my mum a million times, but i’m here and me and the car are still in one piece, so that’s good news.
I arrived, I checked in, went to my room - I’d accidentally booked an accessibility room (face palm) - (which was lovely) but it had NO BATH! I’ve come armed with all my bath bombs and face masks, so I had to do a room swap like the nightmare I am, lucky for me they had one.
Now I’m sat with a fizz in a bar full of couples writing this blog lol. I think holidays for one should be more of a thing, I feel positively zen. (ALSO the bathroom is absolutely gorgeous and making me re-think all decoration decisions i’ve made for our new bathroom!)
Tomorrow, I have all intentions of getting up really early to use the spa facilities and do some lengths (how much you betting this doesn’t happen) before I smash a full Scottish brekkie.
THEN.. the exciting bit - I’m booked in to train with the VERY talented, Maddy Rogers who is actually based lot closer to home, in Grimsby, but hey, a little over night in Glasgow sounded lush to me. So i’ll be learning how I can up my game in the Newborn photography world and gain lots of posing tips, lighting tips and lots more. I’m really looking forward to it.
Can’t wait to bring you lots of new tricks and up my newborn game for you all. Always learning!
